Residents are reminded that the Center has two high speed computers and a scanner
for your usage. We have also recently purchased a very high end laser printer. This
printer allows you excellent picture quality for a small fee. Also available is the St
John's babysitting course which you can do on CD-Rom for $25.00. There are also
CD-ROMs that are Virtual Resource Center's that are great if your starting to think
of a career. We now have DVD's - The Perfect Storm, Twister and Snow Day. Why
not drop by the library, book some time on station #2 and watch a movie. The
Council was advised that John MacLeod had done most of the snow removal this
winter and made a donation to the center. The library hours have been extended and
they are now Tuesday 3-5, Thursday 4-8 and Saturday 1-5. We are awaiting Kelly
Mulligan to give us the go ahead for our multi-sport facility. Tae-Bo is at the Center
with lots of fun and sweat. Tracy leads 10 to 12 residents in a great workout so
come out at 6:30 on Monday and Wednesday evening for some fitting fun. It was
good to hear that library usage is up. Breadalbane Day will coincide with the
opening of the park facility. Council passed a motion supporting Rural carriers in
their fight to get collective bargaining rights. Anyone who might be interested in a
standard first aid course is asked to contact Sandy MacKay. If enough interest is
shown, Sandy will put on a course at the Center. Any students in Grade 11 and 12
should check out the Community Services Bursary which is worth $500.00. The
Breadalbane Environment Committee has received funding and if there are any
students interested in summer employment, please contact Sandy.

Five
residents were also in attendance. Sandy read the minutes of the 2000 Annual
meeting. Dawna welcomed all to the annual meeting. She reported that the council
meets on the first Wednesday of each month and all are welcome. She advised those
present that we had purchased two new signs, 40 new chairs and 10 tables and a
VCR. A cabinet was built to store the VCR and other equipment and a platform was
made to store the tables and chairs. The pop machine was taken over by Kim
MacLeod and the problems seem to continue. As a result we have discontinued the
pop machine. Under the CAP program we were able to hire two people - Kim
MacLeod worked for 25hrs per week until the end of March and Karen Mathews
worked at the CAP site for 12 weeks during the summer. Both reported a good
amount of interest in the CAP site by our local residents and people outside our
area. Aden McIver still continues to cut the grass in the summer and Duffy's help
keep our parking lot cleared of snow. We are making plans for a multi-sport field
for our community park. We have met with Kellie Mulligan and Francios Caron to
discuss some level of financial support for this project. We were approved for
$5,000.00 to be matched by the community. Our Breadalbane Day this year was a
Community Hoe-Down on September 16 with Karoke with the kids in the
afternoon, a pot luck supper and Karaoke with Kevin and Colleen in the evening.
Other events are a Christmas Lighting Contest, Christmas Craft night, Wanda
Naylor with her creative arts series and Kim had her day camp for the summer.
Thane Nicholson stepped down as councilor and Karen Mathews filled that position
until elections were held on November 6th. Your councilors for the next three year
term are Dawna MacLeod (chair), Barry Stahlbaum, Hazel MacKay, Kevin Burke,
Kim MacLeod, Eric Wigmore and Karen Mathews. Janie Kelly 's audit report was
read and adopted. The budget was read line by line and adopted as presented. The
Community residents then reviewed several issues: Event coordinated with the
opening of the new facility in the park, beaver in the dam, hunting in the community
and renting of the center for events that may want to use products that contain
alcohol. Residents are reminded that the Center has two high speed computers and
a scanner for your usage. We have also recently purchased a very high end laser
printer. This printer allows you excellent picture quality for a small fee. Also
available is the St John's babysitting course which you can do on CD-Rom for
$25.00. Soon to come is GED training on the web. There are also CD-ROMs that are
Virtual Resource Center's that are great if your starting to think of a career. We now
have DVD's - The Perfect Storm, Twister and Snow Day. Why not drop by the
library, book some time on station #2 and watch a movie.

annual meeting, the purchase of an activity sign for the park. Tae-Bo is

out at 6:30 on Monday and Wednesday evening for some fitting fun. With
the large amount of snow we may have to start paying for snow removal.
Duff's Construction has provided an excellent free service, but the snow
keeps piling up. It was good to hear that library usage is up. Community
residents are reminded that the Annual meeting is set for March 14th
(snow date 15th). Agenda items will be minutes of 2000, chair
report, auditor report, budget and community activities-2001.Janie Kelly
has agreed to audit the books. This is your chance as resident, to come
out and give the direction to your Council on what you want your money
spent on over the next year. The next meeting of Council will be
March14, 2001 and everyone is welcome to attend.
