The Fort Augustus Tech Center is a Non-profit organization. It was initiated in the spring of 1998. The Tech Center is a division of the Community Access Project (CAP).
CAP is a Government project whose goal is to have every community in the country accessible to computers and the internet.
FATC Plans:
The Fort Augustus Tech Center has plans of implementing
programs that will take place during normal tech centre hours for adults as well as camps for students from grades 2 to 9. We currently have 18 computers that the public can use for free.
Hours:
Throughout the school year the CAP site will be open from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday night. If you would like to volunteer to keep the site open for a longer time during the winter months, contact Kerry Quinn
Computer Camps:
The Fort Augustus Tech Centre is currently holding camps for children
entering grade two to grade nine. The camps will run for three hours a day
for one week. There is a cost of twenty-five dollars per student. The children
from grades 2-3 will learn beginner computer which will include typing,
managing files, and some word processing. Children from grades 4-9 will
learn how to make their own website and move files.
